The most crucial part of the interiors business is to understand the customer's needs. So all we do is listen intently and get a clear understanding. It often starts with an intensive, multi-day planning period in which we meet the client to exchange ideas, explore possibilities, make suggestions and develop a plan. At this preliminary stage, the discussions regarding specific functions or departments that will use the space, furniture, and equipment occur. Measurements and photos are also accepted at this time if required. It is also essential to gauge approximate budgets and make suggestions accordingly. At Design Concepts, we take a humane approach to business and ensure solutions cater to every budget.
Our technical team works on the best possible scenario for the space based on a thorough site audit and measurements. An in-depth analysis of the area, requirements and constraints are considered. We exchange ideas and suggestions to establish a visual dialogue with the clients until a mutually agreeable vision is arrived. It serves as a visual roadmap that will guide us through the stages ahead. Consequently, our highly experienced interior design team further developed the schematic design that was agreed upon mutually. The materials palette and finishes are defined as per the aesthetic needs of the spaces. Every important detail, such as the location of windows, doors, colour schemes, material treatments and finishes, furniture designs and lighting, are also included in the design. The outcome is a transformation of ideas into an almost virtual experience with 3D models, then presented to the client for final approvals.
A cost estimate is carefully worked out based on the material and finishing recommendations, approved and finalised by the client. We take utmost care of the cost sensitivities and ensure that any cost variations are tackled in the most efficient and mutually agreeable way. At Design Concept, we believe in demonstrating absolute transparency and constant touch with our clients throughout the project. Regular feedback and updates at every step of the design and procurement process ensure timely intervention and leave no room for surprise. A comprehensive timeline is charted to monitor and review progress and is shared regularly with the client.
Sourcing and Procurement for interior design projects is a critical and specialised area, owing to many moving parts, complexities, and uncertainties in the market. At Design Concept, an experienced, resourceful, intuitive and thorough team ensures the challenging procedure is managed in an efficient and timely manner. In addition, our exceptionally credible relationships with vendors, both local and overseas, gives us an added leverage. It ensures we have an advanced alert system for shipments delays or discontinued materials. It enables us to make alternate arrangements well in advance and helps thwart last-minute delays.
